About JNJ
Built on experience, driven by reliability and personal service
The JNJ story
Family-owned and operated with more than 50 years in contracting
JNJ Contracting and Machinery was founded in 2009 by Joe Caddel, a pipeline contractor with five decades of hands-on experience in the construction of sewer mains (30” to 6”), water mains (48” to 4”), and storm drains (102” to 4”).
Joe began his career in 1975, when he founded Caddel Engineering in California. He managed a team of 30 on-the-job employees and a substantial fleet that included seven Caterpillar excavators, from 140,000lbs to 40,000lbs, and nine Caterpillar loaders, ranging from 3 yards to 8 yards in size. He also had a couple of backhoes and other equipment.
After retiring, Joe quickly realized he was not ready to step away from the industry. Contractors regularly contacted him for advice on where to find dependable heavy equipment, and he saw an opportunity to help. That passion led to the creation of JNJ Contracting.
